KINGWOOD Township was created out of Bethlehem Township in 1749, bordering Amwell Township on the south. Some of its earliest settlers were Barcroft, Bonham, Brays, Emley, Guild, King, Kugler, Lequear, Opdyckes, Race, Rockhill, Warford, and Wilson, to name a few.
