Before I go any further with the Fox family, it has occurred to me that a family tree, or, more accurately, a descendants chart, might help clear up any confusion that develops.

There were two separate Fox families in early Hunterdon, one of them from Germany (originally Fuchs), and the other from England. The English branch was directly related to the great Quaker leader, George Fox. The German branch settled south of Sand Brook village.
