The Haines Family in America date back to the Quaker family that settled in Burlington County in the 1680s. By the early 1700s, one of them had found his way to Hunterdon County. His son bought a farm shortly after the Revolution on which the next four generations of Haines lived and thrived. Unfortunately, I was unable to make a direct connection between the Hunterdon Haines and the settlers of Burlington. I’m sure it can be done, though, with more research. I begin this tree with the first Haines in Hunterdon County.
Please feel free to make additions and/or corrections in the comments section below. There are a lot of missing people in this version of the Haines tree, so your help is much appreciated.

Re: Lydia Lake (1823 – 1896) & Jacob Rounsavel (1817 – 1857)
I have Lydia as the daughter of Sergeant Lake (1797-1879) & Latitia West based upon Recollections of Baptistown by Jay Bee.

Well, you are probably right. Lydia was not mentioned in the will of Cornelius Lake (dated 5/20/1842). Because Lydia Lake married Jacob Rounsavel in 1846, census records aren’t much help. What clinches is Sergeant Lake being the executor of Jacob Rounsavell dec’d in 1858. (He was only 40 when he died.) So, it looks like I’ll have to fix that tree.

Hello, Do you have any more information on Hendrick and Christian Weaver? My 4th great grandmother was Gertie (Charity) Weever who married Robert Campbell. They had my 3rd great grandfather, Christian Campbell in 1754. I am wondering it they are related. Christian (Christopher) Campbell lived in Amwell and served in the NJ Militia. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you!

I have very little information on Hendrick Weaver. But then, I have not researched him in any focused way.
