Since most of the Aller family lived in the northern townships of Hunterdon County, I am not very familiar with them, and hesitate to publish this family tree. However, some Allers did live in East Amwell, Raritan and Delaware townships, so I hope that errors here can be corrected by knowledgeable Aller descendants. Especially confusing are the Peter and Henry Allers.
There seem to be two early Peter Allers: Peter Aller born c.1724 in Anhausen, Norrdrhein-Westfalen, Germany, married to Ann Hoppock, born 1734 in the same place, daughter of Jost Henrich Hoppough and Anna Magdalena Shu; and Petrus Aller (c.1715-1778) married to Anna Elizabeth Case (1718-aft1773). They were also German immigrants to Hunterdon County.
This called for a consultation with Henry Z. Jones, and his tomes on the Palatine migration in the early 18th century. In More Palatine Families, under the chapter “Some Later Arrivals, 1717-1776,” he lists Johann Peter Aller and refers us to his book Westerwald to America, written with Annette K. Burgett (pp. 13-14). Unfortunately, I have not had a chance to check out that book. The other Jones books I have checked without success, and the same goes for Chambers’ Early Germans of NJ.
So, for the time being, I will list two Peter Aller families, starting with the earlier one.

Hi, we recently purchased a farm in Lebanon on Allerton Road. We were told that the original owners of the house and property were the Allers. The original 1/2 of the house dates to the 1760’s and the newer 1/2 is from around 1825. I’m trying to find out the history of the house, property, and people who have lived here

Dear Hannah, What you are asking for is a house history. There are not many people who do that sort of work in Hunterdon County, and that surprises me, considering what a wonderful history the county has. I suggest you check out my articles on researching old houses. Go to Index of Articles and click on Basic Sources. Under “Other Articles” you will find “Secrets to a Great House History” and “House Histories, part two.” I hope that will provide you with the resources you need.
