The following family trees for the Taylor families concerns the Taylors who settled near Mount Airy, the Taylors who settled on the Cook Tract in Amwell/Delaware Township, a short distance west of the village of Sand Brook, and the Taylor family of Bethlehem Township who were associated with the Taylor Iron Works.
Surnames of spouses are highlighted in green if they also have a published family tree on this website.
Some of the more prominent related families who appear in previous articles:
Bray, Dunham, Everitt, Gano, Haines, Hoagland, Hunt, Lair, Lambert, Lawshe, Opdycke, Rea, Risler, Rittenhouse, Robins, Romine, Runyan, Sergeant, Sharp, Sine, Sutton, Thatcher, Vandolah, Wilson, and Wolverton
Given the challenge of researching these early Taylors, I will happily entertain any additions or corrections readers may wish to provide.

Hi Marfy,
Any relation that you know of to the Taylors of Taylorsville, (Washington Crossing)? I’m sure Taylor was not an uncommon name.

Yes, Taylor is a very common name, and I don’t think the Taylors of Taylorsville were related, but actually I do not know since I have never researched those Taylors. My genealogical research is pretty limited to the bounds of Hunterdon after Mercer Co. was created, with the exception of Hopewell, where I sometimes wander.

Hi Marfy,
You have done tremendous research in publishing various family lines, including the Taylors.
I am directly related to the Taylors of Taylorsville, PA which is now called Washington Crossing, PA. I would love to see if we can connect the Taylors, though as mentioned above, it is certainly a common name.
I am a Past President of The Purcell Family of America. Our website is: http://www.pfaroots.org and we have a Facebook page as well.

JF, I’m afraid I can’t take the time to research the PA Taylors. It is a common name, so care must be taken.

I have reached an inpass with my ancestor Benjamin Taylor 1807-1881 from Burlington County, NJ. He married Eliza Reed 1810. Her grandfather was Henry Reed of Revolutionary War fame. On Benjamin’s death report it says his father was Thomas Taylor and mother Patience.
Have you come across this family with your research. Myself and several ‘cousins’ have been looking for years,
Anything would be appreciated
Thank you

I have additional information on the children of John Taylor and Rebecca Stout if you would like it. Also you have John and Rebecca’s son John (Lieutenant later Captain in the 3rd Regiment Hunterdon Militia) marrying Sarah Wolverton. I am not sure that is correct. We can discuss that in a different forum if you are so inclined.
