ROSEMONT was first known as Rose Mont or Mont Rose, a name given to the place at the time of a wedding held there in 1845, when Fanny Barcroft married Peter Ten Broeck Runk. Early 18th-century settlers here were George and Mary Fox, William and Catharine Rittenhouse, and John and Elizabeth Reading.
