Hendrick Endt is said to have traveled from Rotterdam to America in 1733. He was accompanied by Rev. John Naas of the Amwell Brethren Church, his sons Valentine and Daniel, and a Catherine Endt who may have been his daughter. I do not know where he settled or when he died.

Many of the families that the Ents married into have family trees of their own published here, or else they are on my list of trees to publish in the future. I have included the children of female Ents, but not their grandchildren.

Footnotes:

  1. When I first published the Ent tree, I left out four of the children of Valentine and Susanna, probably because I had no information on them. Brian Murphy contacted me about a letter he had from Mary Ent, wife of Charles Ent of Morgan Twp., Ohio. It was written in 1821 to Mary’s dearest friend Amy Lambert Hoppock. Since Valentine and Susannah are said to have had a son Charles, I will assume for now that the Charles Ent of Ohio moved there from Hunterdon County. Brian did an internet search and found that Charles Ent of Ohio served in the War of 1812.
  2. Charles Brown is a mystery. Perhaps one of you has information on him?
  3. Her second husband may have been a James Doherty, but I have no information on him.
  4. Some researchers have identified John E. Swallow, born 1796, died 1877, as the son of Benj. and Susan Ent Swallow. But Susan was not old enough to be the mother of John. Since Benjamin Swallow was somewhat older than Susan Ent, it is my guess that he had a previous wife before marrying Susan, and that John was the son of that unknown wife.
