Sandy Ridge in Delaware Township is not a village because it lacks the infrastructure of a village. Its core is a church and a graveyard, but there is nothing else — no store, no post office, no cluster of houses. And yet, it is still a recognizable place, a neighborhood.

Sandy Ridge Church
This past fall, an application was prepared to create a Sandy Ridge Historic District in Delaware Township. This area is full of interesting properties, with the old Sandy Ridge Baptist Church standing at its center.
